Pollinating

Question:

Do blueberries need pollinating t fruit?

Answer:

Blueberries, like all fruit, require pollination, usually by insects in order to bear fruit.  There is a misconception that plants are only pollinated by honey bees, infact flowering and fruiting plants are pollinated by a multitude of insects, from flies through to massive bumble bees.  We have some isles between the blueberry plants where we have deliberately sown clover and wildflowers to encourage bumble bees to use our fields.

We have also set up mason bee hives around the fields to increase numbers of this species.
